Membership Application

Membership Types:

Firefighter   

Prospective members must complete and pass a background check during the application process. NCSI provides a secure link to complete the background check application:  https://carrollcountydepartmentoffireandems.quickapp.pro(GoogleChrome is the suggested browser for accessing NCSI site).  

I understand that prior to responding to any emergency incident I must successfully complete the following minimum requirements:

  1. Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association approved physical
  2. Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute: Firefighter I (FF I) course (or equivalent)
  3. Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute: Hazardous Materials Operations
  4. FEMA: National Incident Management Association (NIMS) 100 – on line course
  5. FEMA: National Incident Management Association (NIMS) 200 – on line course
  6. FEMA: National Incident Management Association (NIMS) 700 – on line course
  7. Receive permission from the current Chief of the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Co.

Further, I understand that I must be enrolled in the FF I class during my 12-month probationary period and in order to continue riding, must successfully complete the MFRI FF II or equivalent within 5 years of becoming a member.


EMS Provider

I understand that prior to responding to any emergency incident I must successfully complete the following minimum requirements:

  1. Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association approved physical
  2. Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS): Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  3. Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute: Hazardous Materials Operations
  4. FEMA: National Incident Management Association (NIMS) 100 – on line course
  5. FEMA: National Incident Management Association (NIMS) 200 – on line course
  6. FEMA: National Incident Management Association (NIMS) 700 – on line course
  7. Receive permission from the current EMS Captain of the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Co.

Further, I understand that I must be enrolled in the EMT class during my 12-month probationary period and in order to continue riding as an EMS provider, I must maintain a current EMS certification.


Auxiliary Member

Prospective members must complete and pass a background check during the application process. NCSI provides a secure link to complete the background check application:  https://carrollcountydepartmentoffireandems.quickapp.pro(GoogleChrome is the suggested browser for accessing NCSI site).  

I understand that I am expected to participate in fund raising activities for the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company.  I may attend regular Company meetings  and join and chair committees that support these efforts.
