The Taneytown Juniors are between the ages of 12 and 17. Their Mission is to assist the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company "Senior Members" in meeting their objectives, to protect life, property, and environment. While pursuing this mission we will continue to educate our members about fire company operations.
The Junior Company is structured just as the Senior Company. Complete with monthly meetings, Committees, Trainings and fundraisers.Juniors may participate in training, whether conducted by themselves with an Advisor present, or a Senior Company training. Junior members may start taking classes at the age of 16. When minimum requirement of classes and trainings are met, Juniors may start their senior probationary status as a riding member. At the age of 18, the Junior Advisory Board will submit a letter of recomendation to the Senior Company for the Junior member to be voted on to move up into the senior company.
Applicants must be between the ages of 12 and 17 years of age.
Applicants must submit a copy of the their most recent report card from the most recent marking period at the time of application. INTERIM REPORTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Report cards must meet the following criteria in order for the applicant to be considered for membership. They must carry a "C" average in all classes and not have an "F" in any subjects. This is done because we believe that the kids education is the number one priority.
Applicant's parent or guardian must attend the interview with applicant.
